Vicki & Dan had a beautiful and intimate ceremony at Holmdel Park. I love photographing at new locations… especially shady ones when it’s this hot : ) In spite of the heat, the wedding party and their guests danced their butts off. It was hard not to with such a great music selection. I think Amy and I were caught shaking our tails a few times too!

Dina & Gary ~ Carnival Wedding

What do you get when you mix roller derby, tattoos, bowling, burlesque, a rope swinging cowboy, a sword & flame swallower, a contortionist, a magician, and couple that is head over heals in love?

One of the craziest, most unique, and fabulously fun weddings I have ever had the opportunity to experience.

Dina and Gary met all because of roller derby! They both skate for local teams. It even played a roll (haha… I couldn’t resist) in Gary’s proposal. He woke Dina up at 8am on a Saturday with flowers, a few packs of gum, and an engraved skate bearing which said “Marry me Dina”.

Being a creative, Dina wanted their wedding to reflect her and Gary’s personalities, and incorporate the things they both love. The boardwalk in Asbury and Asbury Lanes were the perfect locations for all she envisioned… a casual, carnival themed, fun filled event with tons of entertainment for her guests.

Dina’s style reminded me of 1920′s vaudeville. Absolutely gorgeous! Jami Fay (Jami Fiasconaro), Dina’s sister, did a fabulous job on the makeup as did Mallory Zenner with the vintage hair styling.

Dina’s bouquet was made specially for her by her sister Jami & Melissa Heid (multi talented isn’t aren’t they). I love it! It reminded me of Candy Land! I wanted to just take a bite out it…. YUM! Yep, her dress and jewelry were custom designs as well. One of Dina’s former team mates from the Gotham Girls Roller Derby team, Cecelia Anton of Live Fast Boutique (a.k.a. C.C. Bullets of the Manhattan Mayhem, No. 69) designed and made her dress, and the lovely Melissa Heid of The Turquoise Pony did a fabulous job with her necklace and bracelet.

Asbury is one of my favorite places to shoot. There are so many fun and funky locations just within a small radius.

Everything from the popcorn you received as you walked through the door, to sideshow performances, the goldfish in bowls with floating ping pong balls, to the peanut passing beauty, on down to the candied apples and cupcakes in cones for desert was representative of what you would experience at a carnival, but with one added bonus… Bowling!

Michael of MLS videographer and I had a fun capturing all of the reactions throughout the performances. We were amazed with the whole show, the wild west performer,Chris McDaniel; the magician, Albert Cadabra; burlesque beauty, Gal Friday; Contortionist, Ravi, The Scorpion Mystic ; and daring sword and flame swallower, Roderick Russell .

Yes, it’s here… that holiday rush! Although my deadlines for receiving albums are walking the wire at this point for x-mas deliveries, IT’S NOT TOO LATE!

The holiday deadline for a session is Monday November 23rd. This will guarantee that you will have your images posted to your web gallery before or by December 24th. Don’t worry ladies, there will still be that element of surprise when he sees his web gallery gift, and finds out there is more to come! It could even be fun to let him help choose a few images for the album. You know, make him feel a part of it all. Sessions booked before the holiday deadline have a few more gift delivery options. Contact the studio for details on session and holiday options.

“Noir” was the theme of the Primal Stare Studios shootout session this June. I am excited to finally have a location to shoot studio sessions in. For all of you ladies out there that don’t feel your home is suitable for a session, and a hotel is a bit out of your range, we have an alternative! I recently found Primal Stare Studios.

This weekend is going to be AWESOME!!! I have been willing the sunshine gods to show their beautiful rays by strolling around in my flip flops and linen shirts. Finally, they listened… I was beginning to think it was all for not, and I was going to end up catching a cold.

I am photographing Christine Hansen, one of my wonderful boudoir make-up artists. We will be cruising around taking advantage of all of the cool spots that Red Bank has to offer. I can’t wait to share our session with you all. This is going to be so much fun!

In addition to my session with Christine, I have been honored with the job of photographing the christening of little Miss Olivia Shinners this Sunday at St. James. I’ll share as soon as I can.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting one of my boudoir hair-stylist’s wedding (she’s also my stylist =:). Mallory has been with me since the beginning, and I was so honored to be a part of her and Brandon’s day. Brandon and Mallory live and work right here in Red Bank, so it only made sense for them to have their wedding day events here as well.

When I arrived, their house was buzzing with excitement. Mallory looked absolutely radiant! Her dress was vintage elegance, and I was floored to find out that her mom had found it on eBay for only $30. See all of you brides-to-be out there, you don’t have to spend a mortgage payment on your dress. Everything about Mallory and Brandon’s event expressed their personalities from the rings (hand crafted by Quicksilver in Red Bank. NJ) to the cupcakes (made with love by The Petite Cafe in Nutley, NJ).

The day started with an intimate ceremony celebrating with immediate family, right in their own backyard. The two exchanged vows, rings, and a few laughs. What ceremony would be complete with out a few follies. It makes it all that much more memorable.

I’m lucky I had a mission to photograph, otherwise I think I would have been crying my eyes out during the ceremony. It truly was beautiful and moving.

Brandon looked absolutely handsome. I wasn’t surprised, but it was quite a departure from seeing him in his work attire.

I loved Mallory’s bouquet, it was a beautiful arrangement of vivd wildflowers and baby’s breath. It fit perfectly with this little spot. It was literally a “little” spot across from Jamian’s, where the reception was held. It was beautifully lit with a bit a green.

Jamian’s was the perfect atmosphere for an intimate and casual reception. Located right in the heart of Red Bank on Monmouth Street, the food was fantastic, and the staff was super sweet and anticipated every need and want.

I have dreams about these cupcakes. They were unbelievably amazing! The Petite Cafe is known for their “stuffed cupcakes”. With 102 flavors to choose from, these delicious concoctions are not only beautifully decorated, they are orgasmic. Try one, you’ll find yourself going back for seconds.

Surprisingly, the roles were reversed. The planning for the day was done by the groom. Great job Brandon! I’m sure the honeymoon was planned with as much love and care as your wedding day. I can’t wait to hear all about your trip to Greece.

Congratulations Mallory and Brandon! I wish you many years of happiness and love. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day.

It’s the First Day of Spring…

… and it’s snowing, although I don’t think it will stick. After 7 years up north you would think this little southern girl would have gotten used to the cold. NOPE! I live for those 80?, slightly humid days. Give me that and a plate full of freshly boiled crawfish, an ice cold beer, and my friends and family enjoying themselves. Now that is what I call a perfect day!!!

Hellooo All,

I can’t tell you how excited I am about my new blog. This is just the beginning of things to come!!! I have oodles (say it with me “oodles”… it’s such a funny word, and fun to say!) of work highlighting the past year of boudoir, portraits (including engagements, kids, and families), maternity, and weddings. How could I forget the product updates? I can’t wait to share all of my little goodies, along with the funky new finds for sessions to come. Stay tuned!

What do I have to say about Jenny’s session…… Va-Va-Voom!!! Jenny worked the camera like a pro. You can just tell from the photos that she was having fun! Jenny was so excited about her upcoming February wedding in Cancun that she couldn’t wait to have her boudoir session. Let’s see if she can hold out on her excitement and save giving her husband-to-be his album for the wedding day! Jenny, you look gorgeous!
